What an awful artwork

i don't know why but I kind of like it, the single on the other hand was really good can't wait to hear more of this record

Limited to 2000 Box set announced.

And all I'd want would be the dinnerware, so I can put my meat on it. Anyone who gets this and wouldn't mind splitting it feel free to PM an offer. Guessing they're going to go into Swansong veins judging by the single.

Was the cover art designed by Damien Hirst?

I dont know if it's because thair last one was so bland and uninspired, but this one is so good. Even the longest song doesnt drag too much, I'm impressed

Surgical Steel was bland?! Come on it was one of the best comeback albums for the ages.

I don´t get it neither, I mean a 1 it´s an unlistenable like Illud Divinum Insanus, and I still get why someone give it that record like a 5, but Torn Arteries a 1? jajaja

A lot of people on metal storm have a tendency to rate an album 1/10 so that it doesn't dethrone their favorite album in the top of the year. In addition, some people just give awful rating when they slightly dislike something

it's a shame, because one thing I love about this page is that I've discover many bands by rating, and I think sometimes it could be misleading giving such a rating imo.

It's a minority of people who do that, the average rating still reflects pretty well the opinion of the people who voted

Surgical Steel was bland?! Come on it was one of the best comeback albums for the ages.

Surgical steel was pretty boring, one of the most overrated albums from that era. Other than "Captive Bolt Pistol", it was pretty much all boring songs, This one, while not much variety on here, it's a lot better than the previous

Well... Yeah. Maybe not vegan (anymore), but at least Steer and Walker are vegetarians. It's been an integral part of Carcass' identity since the beginning I guess.

I wanted to give it a 7 but I guess 6 is what it deserves, really really average. "Surgical Steel" was a masterpiece compared to this.

I don't know whether my response to this is due to my tastes changing or due to the album's quality, but I did find myself less engaged with this than I was with Surgical Steel when it was released

It's probably the former, and it's the same with me.

Enjoying this album a lot, probably my favourite Carcass album, and I've been a fan since the Heartwork days. Well done guys, every song is very good.

Pretty sweet output. Not mind-blowing but has that signature carcass sound.

3 or 4 good tracks makes it good for me.

Really really loved it. Man, those riffs. Dance of Uxtqb put a smile on my face thats not gonna be wiped out anytime soon.

Arguably their most sophisticated album to date both in songwriting and production, and some of the riffs and solo's are masterful, but I wouldn't say it's as memorable or enjoyable than Surgical Steel. Whether their later work is better than their early work is purely a matter of taste, some prefer the rough, raw, and vile sounding grindcore stuff, some prefer the more nuanced and melodic side, but I'm personally torn between the two, with my favorite album of theirs Necrotism lying in the middle.
