This is in the running for the least necessary review on this website. First of all, I don’t think anybody out there was still wondering whether or not they needed to invest their time in A Narrative Soundscape; the consensus has firmly established that this album has about as much value as mittens for a snake. Second, tominator already did a fine job of breaking down just how garbage this album is in the review that he published around the time of the initial release, and I have added no alternative opinions that might justify a second staff review. But, as sometimes happens, I started writing out some of these observations as a comment on the album thread to document my listening experience and eventually found that I had too much to say for a single post, so I decided I would rather shape those notes into a cohesive review instead.

Kind of has a Charlemagne vibe to it, except Christopher Lee probably had a pop screen on his mic so he didn't have every p and t accompanied by intense saliva noises.

Also annoys me to no end that this album is neither a narrative, nor a soundscape.

Not as bad as people say. Same goes for Lulu.

I've got a knack for having unpopular opinions, so look out.
I think Lulu is slightly worse than this. Any album on the bottom 20 is worse than this imo. This isn't about quality, but I would rather listen to this than any album from a genre I hate. Simple.

Jon probably got the idea for this album from David Defeis. I never thought I would actually agree with the rating but this is just horrible. Long time since I've been so bored already after listening to one song. It's so hard to put a rating on something like this, I think a 2 is quite accurate as I firmly believe there's stuff that's even worse

Probably Peosphoros since their number 2 on Bottom 20 albums list but not popular like Metallica to be number one. lol

It's definitely not worse than I thought and do think that the music of "Wolf" is interesting, but God damn this is as tedious and boring as a playstation 2 cutscene you can't skip. Spoken word is good if used sparingly, but not an entire album, this is drab in the worst possible way. I guess they needed to do something now that a certain member is a domestic terrorist.

I appear to be one of the few people that can separate a person's music output from their personal opinions, religious beliefs, politics or crimes. It's disappointing that the majority of reactions are because of what Jon did last year (no, I'm not defending him), not because the album is terrible. Honestly, as an instrumental, I could see myself listening to this, but as a spoken world album, it's a dumpster fire.

If they feel so obligated to rate low every weak album, let them spend the rest of their life rating millions of weak albums here and writing comments on how bad they hate the music

Amazing trolling, that is a literal description of your own account xD
