JOPE OF STEELE

An End of a trilogy of albums. The first song points to a mainstream direction from the band, I recommend to not quit here or either skip it, because there is better material coming up. In The City is already more on the right path. Not sure whether it's my preference or is the album actually worse than the previous ones by slowing it down and trying to do something like heavy metal with AOR here? I am not an inventor of gunpowder, but in my expertise if you focus on either one of these, you have much better chance to succeed than putting these two together and expect something awesome to come out of it. Listening to those late 80s heavy metal albums makes it easy to understand why so few bands survived to 90s and while it's sad to see so many bands quit here or change their musical direction, it also makes me give quite a lot respect to all those bands that survived to the 90s and beyond. Nothing good lasts forever, I suppose.

Hence the faster songs are better here: Ruler Of The Dark and Restless stand out.
