Just listened through the promo copy for the first time - this is 80 minutes long, and amazingly remains engaging throughout that runtime. It's less stoner doom than Grandmother and more psychedelic/atmospheric, with a lot of sustained ethereal passages, but it's super cool

Intriguing Could you name any bands to give me footing?

Hmm, there's one song near the end that's a bit Elder-y, but beyond that it's hard to make obvious comparisons - they're somewhat based in stoner doom, but a bit different to most of the obvious candidates in that style - maybe a bit like Green Druid but a bit lighter, or slightly like Comacozer. There's also a bit of a post-metal slant to parts here, a bit like how bands like Methadone Skies and Sunnata have dabbled a bit with post-rock/metal within stoner metal. I occasionally get very faint Psychonaut vibes too

There's a difference between a 'lazy rip' and paying tribute to an inspiration.

I guess so. I don't think it's very thoughtful or creative though. I'm not going to start a thrash metal band and call it Ride The Lightning

Now now, the question is. Is the music good?

Well... At least you wouldn't name your band Kings Of Thrash

Such a remarkable album indeed, it's definitely one of the most captivating atmosphere's I've currently experienced this year, along with Sermon. It's very long but also very rewarding if you can manage to get through it without distraction.

It's a super interesting blend of psychedelic doom and post-rock. Despite it's 80-minute run time (which can be daunting for bands in this genre), it's absolutely captivating. Well worth the full sit down and listen.

I must admit that this album needed some time to grow on me. It didn’t hit that hard at first listen, but now I’ve been listening a couple of times, and more of it’s beauty reveals itself with every time i listen to it.

Anything 'psychedelic' in nature tends not to be my favorite thing and, while I have listened to plenty of psych-rock/metal records, they're not my go-to to re-listen to. This one, however, is the exception. The vibe it creates is impeccable, and it is a superb album.
