Fun Dying Fetus is back! Haven't had this much fun with one of their albums since Reign Supreme.

Exactly what I want from a Dying Fetus album, solid listen.

Solid record. Probably not my favorite in their catalog, but I'm very pleased with it.

All other brutal death metal bands leave the hall; Dying Fetus still wear the crown.

That would be true if Trichomoniasis, Brodequin and Afterbirth didn't release / weren't releasing something this year

This is by far the best brutal death metal release I've heard this year, not surprised though as Dying Fetus have a consistently solid and discography. This is one of the few bands categorized as brutal death that I actually really like, and this release is probably one of their most enjoyable to date, it's very well structured and groovy, and not just technical madness and brutality.

Classic Fetus formula, if you like their style then it's a good album.

Apart from lackluster title names and general music in concept, DF never appealed to me apart from being a generic slam metal band. If I remember correctly, I went through one EP in 2011 -- it was great.

This is bait😂 Their last two albums at least have been amazing and this one sounds pretty frenzied as well. I hardly see them as a slam band, moreso just brutal death and even quite tech at times. Most importantly though - riffy as fuck and with tasty drumming.

I'm looking forward to that Afterbirth record, haven't heard the other two bands I believe, lemme get on that.
This album does slap though in my opinion. I actually can't recall a brutal death album from this year I've heard, need to check my logs xD

Haven't heard a lot of bdm from this year either, but from the last few years in general there have been dozens of bdm releases more engaging to me than anything DF ever put out

This album really grew on me since release. Liked it initially but this ended up being my most listened to DM album from 2023.

Damn this comment did not age well. Trichomniasis sucked, Brodequin didn’t even release anything that year and even as good as Afterbirth was, it had more an atmospheric/technical death metal feel than a brutal death metal one.

Both of Trichomoniasis' releases are better than this, and Afterbirth released the album of the year (although I do agree it wasn't quite bdm).
Brodequin didn't release anything last year but Excruciations' EP filled that hole, and masterfully at that.
I'd also like to mention Gaffed, which released an album I think was about as good as this one.
Let's just agree to disagree good sir
