Maybe not their best but for such old and legendary band this is good, more power metal sound here, but good album

After throwing in the towel after their masterpiece A Sultans Ransom they returned about 15 years later with the comeback album Eye of the Sun (the title taken from the closing song on the Fighting Back live record). Music wise we are at a totally new place. This is heavier, rawer and has a modern touch to it. Only Lee Payne remains from the former days and with him comes a new band and ofcourse a new singer as well (pretty much standard for Cloven Hoof with a new singer on every album).

It's quite a good album despite having some real stupid moments where the modern metal influences is badly implemented. The best song is Angels in Hell which is a beast of a track where the drummer gives a great performance.
