Denver, Colorado's Ethan McCarthy is perhaps best known today for his work fronting the blackened sludge trio Primitive Man, and to a lesser extent Vermin Womb. But not too long ago, he was at the helm of another utter monstrosity: Clinging To The Trees Of A Forest Fire.

Easily the discovery of the year; this band just slays babies.

Obliterating everything within sight, this album is a crushing and punishing assault of pure metal mayhem with a twist. Wish I had lost my virginity to this harsh and merciless album...

Highly recommended!

I do have to say there are some verry interesting thing going on with this band. They appear to be trying at something I did not think was possible Doom/Grind. Yes at specific parts of the album the tempo is that of a doom band but still retains the noise know for grindcore. Not the best album in the world but definitly worth a listen good pick Thryce.

Fucking vicious release and one of my favs from Ethan McCarthy. Pretty unique sound too honestly, what other bands out there really fuse BM, doom, and grind in this way?

I am the Magician and the Exorcist. I am the axle of the wheel, and the cube in the circle. “Come unto me” is a foolish word: for it is I that go.
