It has been a while since the last time a Lucassen tune was stuck in my head properly. It really has been a long time. No, it was not Guilt Machine album, and not the last Ayreon album, and not even the first Stream Of Passion, although that one had some really good moments. Last time it really clicked for me was Ayreon's The Human Equation. This time it seems to be different, whether for good or bad time will tell but the first two weeks have been filled with all positive emotions.

Arjen is back with his band of merry men for the follow-up to 2002's Space Metal. Following that album wasn't an easy task, but now eight years on and we have yet another fantastic album with all the Arjen and Star One hallmarks.

Nearly finished the first listen of it and enjoying it quite a lot actually.

Yet you gave it a 6.

Yet you gave it a 6.

That 6 was given out a long time after that comment owing to the fact I never revisited the album

So you enjoyed it a lot, but because you never revisited it, you gave it a 6?

You really need to stop worrying about other people's scores.

Well, all I was doing is stating an inconsistency.

Seeing as you don't know what my methods for scoring something is you have no idea what is and isn't consistent

You take a lot of stress over scores.

Not good for heart and......eyes.

Well, it happens when some users finally give a vague score and later on give album a thorough listen. Count me in. No big deal. Only in Joe case, he forgot to check out the record again. Don't taunt him. He's a lovely kid.

Btw, how is Oktoberfest going on?

I still find it amusing that he and some other MS'ers have the illusion that more spins do not influence the initial opinion on an album, yet I've seen them change their scores quite often.

It's not an illusion. And I changed my score simply to give more credence to albums that I actually remember; I frequently go through my entire set of scores and downrate things i don't remember and am unlikely to revisit. Also, It's not an inconsistency, my comment is simply an anachronism to the updated score.

Oh and JOOE, I am surprised you like this. I haven't listened to it in a while and I remember digging it, isn't this over-the-top progressive metal wankary at it's finest? I thought you cannot stand prog metal?

I like some prog, but I love anything sci-fi so I might have been influenced by that I can't say I remember anything about this but these days I'd probably go to Chimp Spanner for my prog fix.

Russell Allen makes this album really exceptional. Nice riffing, songs, keys and compositions as well of course.

One of Arjens very best works. While this combination of singers already were great on the first Star One album I think Arjen got more out of them here. The second disc is also a must listen.
