"Pedal To The Metal" is the new album of Mr Chris Impellitteri the famous American high-speed neo-classical guitarist . This album in fact was released in Japan first in April 2004, but SPV, decided lately to release it in Europe. More or less one year later and with the disappearance of a song "Stay Tonight" we have the luck, or maybe the bad luck to have this album in the old continent?

I wouldn't say this album sucks but at times it most certainly does. The modern metal influences that is prominent in some songs are entirely out of place. It was not good back then and has aged even worse. The lyrics are also quite abysmal and the song PUNK is a major trainwreck. But there's good stuff here as well, Chris playing is as technical and impressive as ever and most songs has something good going on.

The european version I own excludes the track Stay Tonight, not sure why but maybe they figured out that the main riff is a little bit too much Crazy Train sounding. It also has a different tracklist. On spotify it's the original japan version and that's the version one should listen to.
