Emocore. Emo-metalcore. Post hardcore. Whatever you want to call it, it's not well liked in the metal community. Diehards regard it similarly to the layer of congealing fat that is to be scooped off and discarded from an otherwise tasty dish. Some hate the "whiny" or "nasally" vocals, others the often generic breakup lyrics and breakdowns. At times it's not the music at all, but the fan base of mainstream mall-walkers that turns off the average Carcass fan. While Architects may not change the opinion of the more stubborn bunch, those with an open-mind may just find themselves surprised at how much they enjoy Lost Forever // Lost Together

This band plays some decent post-hardcore. I am not a big fan of the genre but I checked a few songs off the latest stream...not bad.

Definitely shows an improvement over the band's previous couple of albums, but the greatest flaw here is too much repetition. They seem to get it right for the most part, but towards the end the album seems to get tiresome as a result. "C.A.N.C.E.R" and "Colony Collapse" for me stand out more than the rest, if only because of the good balance of soft, quiet tones and heaviness.

I never expected a band of this genre to release an album of this level.

It is a surprisingly good album. I feel a bit bad about not listening to it more. I felt it was a song or two too long. 43 minutes isn't much, but it's almost the maximum I can take in a single sitting for albums in this category.

If you like this one, you should definitely check out Daybreaker, their previous album. It is even stronger I find. They are masters at what they do.

Duly noted, very nice of you to steer me in the right direction, I do want to discover more of what they do.

This is a little surprising. It's a style I have heard a million times before, especially circa early 2000's, but they manage to tighten it up and throw in enough curveballs to make it work. A little The Bled, a little Norma Jean, a little Underoath. Yet it doesn't sound exactly like any of them. Not good enough for best of 2014 or anything, but definitely the best straight-up emo/metalcore album I have heard since high school.

These guys are really one of the few metalcore bands worth a piss IMO. Not to mention Sam Carter has some serious pipes. Plenty of great tunes on this album for sure.

Totally agreed. This continues to grow on me. Bought the cd and have a review pending. Cheers.

As much as I didn't like The Here and Now, and didn't even bother to listen to Daybreaker, I am kinda liking this one. Not absolutely blown away, just kinda enjoying it.
