I had an opportuinty to listen to this already. I am quite unobjective, cause I adore all of Draconian work and this one is not exception. I found this some kind of a mix between last album and "Arcane rain fell". A violin is a pleasant suprise and it doesn't sound like MDB, which is a good thing. Heike really reminds Sharon den Adel at times, but she managed to replace Lisa really well.

Pretty awesome, just listened it whit band members in special listening party , one of best what I have heard from this year and also , I like when Heike sings in deep voice, in some prats, damn its so awesome, better as Lisa Johansson or what sson was her last name (cant remember now)

Not as good as expected. It's not bold enough so it gets boring sometimes. Nevertheless, i'm in love with the singer's voice !

I enjoyed it a lot, this is my kinda doom. By the way, I don't think she sings like Sharon, I just don't hear it.

Really digging this release so far.

Love the beauty/beast thing they have going on with the female and male vocalists.

I think I found another band to stalk and want to dig into their past discography.

Very impressed on first listens. This reminds me of when I first fell in love with doom and gothic styles as I started exploring metal voraciously, and why!

Instantly better than A Rose For The Apocalypse, possibly their best since the monumental Arcane Rain Fell!

Absolutely great Album first time thru. I really like heike's voice, thinks it fits great. No lonelier star is my fave so far.

Getting into Doom because of Draconian. Maybe its not the "true" doom for some, but will surely open some doors for me. Dishearten is a killer track!

At no 1 for the year right now. I wonder how long that will last? No 1s yet.

Its a very good album. It's a good nominate for best gothic album of year. "The Wretched Tide" and "Pale Tortured Blue" it's so beautiful. I dont know whats is the comparations with Den Adel, the voice it so clearly different.

Really enjoyed. Great melodies, great vocals, perfect.

Completely valid comparison, actually. Apart from Sharon den Adel showing more power occasionally, Heike is uncanny.

Also, the bonus track is by far the best song, albeit nothing special there either. I guess they just failed to be both slow and interesting to my ears :/

A big plus to the female vocals which is the highlight of the album. I can hear a resemblance to Sharon den Adel's vocals, but nothing I'm bothered about. I also like it better than the previous album.

I would like to say its best and best from 2015 to ...

If you are looking for ambient music, or tunes to get you sleep this is a good choice. If you actually want to "listen to" music and enjoy some distinctive musicianship, this is a no go. Most of songs blend together, melodies are repetetive and feel uninspired. New album lacks spice and character.

PS. New singer has lovely voice, but not the one for a band like Draconian, her voice is just too soft and gentle and lacks the coldness I want to hear when listening to doom.

Found the album too slow and kind of boring. Yes her voice is nice but don't think I will listen to this too much.

Daaamn, pale tortured blue is so beautiful, by far one of draconian's best songs. About the album, first half is just stellar, then I dunno, it gets kinda boring tbh. Bonus track is good too.

Definite grower this one! First few listens I was disappointed but enjoying it now. More gothic less heaviness, I like Heike's vocals which make a welcome change to the overdone angelic vocals which plague this scene.

2nd half of 'Dusk Mariner' and the narrative on 'Rivers between us' reminds me of Theatre of Tragedy's velvet darkness album for some reason. Good album, not decided on rating yet maybe 8 or 9.

Damn, after listening some songs in advance, I had mixed expectations for this.... But, after listening the whole thing a few times, I can honestly say that this is some really, really good Gothic/Doom Metal! Female vocals remaind me of Sharon del Adel, but suits the music well! Beautiful album indeed....

Good album! I remembers me about the old and great Within Temptation.

It is definitely different from last 2 albums, feels more like Arcane Rain. It can get a little boring at the times like most Doom albums, but it has nice Gothic feel to it.
