It's not like he insults people that likes what he doesn't like. At least I don't remember seeing it. Plus Ronnie Radke is suing him. Seems like Ronnie got a good bit of fans on his side as well as people that hate Fantano
we often have differences in opinion, but I've always found his reviews to be intelligent, articulate, and well-supported, so I respect him as a professional and I find his opinions worth listening to even if I don't share them.
I wasn't aware that too many of them did, although I suppose that makes sense. People are often quick to disagree vehemently with someone who doesn't like a thing they like. I've watched Fantano only casually over the years and

In recent years it seems double albums have been somewhat coming into fashion - both Iron Maiden and Metallica have recently released one, and Mastodon were initially planning the same for their upcoming album. However, Swallow The Sun in 2015 went one further by releasing a triple album, as did Schammasch in 2016 with Triangle. Including three discs within one self-contained package allows bands to offer up both more music, and potentially explore different genres by separating stylistically different material onto different discs. However, when releasing all this music as a single collective piece under one title, one can argue that there is both a need to link the music together, whether tonally, thematically, or otherwise, and also to optimize the quality and the pacing of the album, such that it can be enjoyed and consumed as a single whole. For this review I will cover each disc individually (all with very similar runtimes), and then the combined experience.
I actually decided, right after posting my comment, that the smart thing to do would be to Google "Schammasch Triangle". Maybe next time I should try thinking about doing that before asking dumb questions...
Gonna be great. Contradiction was so captivating I didn't see those 80+ minutes pass, so I'm expecting something similar. The picts about the recording sessions are also kind of intriguing with the different display of instruments.
Are they just going to keep adding disc-length as they progress in albums? Like...4th album has 4cds, 5th has 5 etc...
Also I was hoping this band would break up so I wouldn't have to sit bitterly in the corner mystified by others' enjoyment of the band.
^ Oh, so you also quite didn't get the fuss? i thought it was only me and Maco...
In fact I may never liked their previous works but somehow I'm still looking forward for this. This band is still intriguing. It's like they are on the right way, but aren't quite getting it right, so I keep expecting them to nail it at some point

Well if any band can pull off a triple album it's these guys. Contradiction was ludicrously cohesive whilst being constantly interesting throughout. I reckon they have something up their sleeves, and I suspect 3 different musical approaches on each disc.
The only way I can see this working is if there's a fundamentally different style employed on each disc, as Joe said. Like.... one being black metal, another being death metal, and the final one being some nonmetal dark ambient kind of shit, or something. I'm not gonna hold my breath for that, but overall I think (I hope) this'll be 7 material at the very least

Chill down guys. This isn't like a case with last year's StS album as It is just gonna be a 100 minutes album and I frankly don't know how it is gonna be a triple disc album but these guys sure as hell can make it work at that length.

Oh no, don't get me wrong, I definitely think these guys are more capable of succeeding at this than StS
80 minute + albums usually bore me though if they can't strongly justify their length. I mean stuff like Blood Geometry and Foulest Semen Of A Shelter Elite, those are excellent of course, but those are rare examples of such a technique actually succeeding. Usually it's no easy task to take on. I'm not pessimistic, just a bit skeptical

I really don't have a problem with the length, in light of their earlier accomplishments on Contradiction. I was more surprised that they wanted 3 CDs. They'll pull it off.
My point is that 100 minutes is not really long, for a talented band at least.
100 minutes is long for any band, but some bands can pull it off. I don't see Schammasch doing so since they barely got away with 80 minutes on the previous album.
