Pretty cool album, nice departure from the stale "post-rock/metal" sound. I've recently revisited Ariettes Oubliées and it definitely hasn't aged well. I just wish this was a bit longer, 40 minutes after five years seem kind of a meager effort.

Their worst yet in my opinion. Very few redeeming qualities throughout the album

I like the first two albums but I see his point. Les Discrets was never something particularly unique anyways so anything more than two albums of that style would be too much.
Shame that Alex sees it as their worst album, I tend to agree with him most of the time so I'm afraid of listening to this one (note to self: Check this album before buying the expensive versions of it).
Also, they SUCKED at Roadburn. Man was that a fucking disappointment specially when they were pretty good the last time i saw them back in 2012 or 2013 I believe.

There's some neat ideas here, but the whole package just doesn't work for me at all. Even the bits that I found unique went stale quickly with multiple listens. I get that they may want to try to mix things up and doing something outside the norm, but I'm having a difficult time trying to understand what this completely stripped-down approach is trying to do for the music. Sure, it has an empty and atmospheric vibe that can be pretty haunting, but it's so dull that I don't feel much emotion out of it; as I suspect was the attempt. I actually like the use of electronics in this style in certain spots, but it in other places it just sounds odd and kind of ruins the atmosphere that they build.
More than anything, I just come away from this confused every time I hear it; but not in a positive, intriguing way. In theory I like the idea of what they were trying to do with a minimalist approach to get across a large more harrowing atmosphere, but the way they executed it is a bit monotonous, very frustrating at times, and often just boring.
I think Fursy is a fantastic artist and I love a lot of his ideas so I'm not concerned that this will be the start of a bad trend. I think there's still good things to come from this band.

Really cool album. Lots of electronic bits and early shoe gaze traits that create a lot of layers. It feels a little inconsistent at times, some songs are faster and heavier and some are more laid back and ambient. I wish the whole album was laid back.

Prefer this to their other works to be honest, really like the subdued melancholy of this album

Fuck, I think this album is a mess; but then again, I thought AoP's last album was a complete and utter debacle at first but after many listens it turns out to be one of my favorite albums of all time. So who knows...

I do respect the band for going in a different direction than continuing to the metal direction. However, I do agree with most people here that this is their weakest album. It definitely lost some atmosphere compared to the last album. It's not a bad album, but inconsistent.
