Kreator being the biggest European thrash metal band fell victim to the painful decline of the genre in the 1990s, releasing albums which experimented with industrial and gothic elements with much backlash and little praise from critics and fans. Violent Revolution signals Kreator's return to the band's thrash roots which made them so successful in the 1980s with almost no trace of their experimental material from the previous album Endorama. This album marks another turning point in the career of the German thrash kings Kreator. This time, with Violent Revolution, they have decided to go back to their roots. What makes this transition even better, however, is that they aren't just merely plagiarizing their older material. Discovered this only recently. Surprisingly good. Wouldnt have expected anything similar after poor 90s Kreator. But this one, woooah, blew my mind on first spin. I ilke the melodic approach. Obviously not comparable, and not as classic as their holy trinity (CoS, EA, PtK). But not far away in terms of brilliant songwriting ideas for me. In fact their only one -- apart from the 3 classics -- that I can really enjoy. Highlights: hard to pick, tracks 01, 03, and 05 stand out marginally, for me. But most tracks are good.

Not the heaviest or fastest thrash album out there but this is one of my "comfort" thrash albums if that makes sense. Amazing guitar and bass sounds, all the songs are forceful earworms. What it lacks in speed it makes up for in memorable moments and rock solid song structures.

This might be an unpopular opinion but for me it's their best album to date, just nothing but top-quality songs (it's hard to actually pick a favorite song) and a fantastic sound quality.
