Having seen my fare share of drunk (and not so drunk) assholes in metal shows I'd believe that they were being threatend. Really sad tbh.

There are interviews with Åkerfeldt where he tells his side of that story. Apparently some fans were even threatening them. He seems pretty pissed about the whole affair.
