Santiago Silva was born a 1st of July in Quito – Ecuador. Since he was a child he lived in contact with music because his father was an important member form one of the most important Ecuadorian bands from the 70’s. At the age of 13, with his teenager euphoria and his love for rock he created his first band, performing some concerts and entering a Record Studio for the first time.

Making up his mind to make rock his way of living he decided to get into University to study Music where some years of experience will be complemented by formal Education. Combining classic music with his passion for rock, while he was establishing the basis of Viuda Negra, he participated in Sacred Music Choirs.

His passion for Nature’s conservation pushed him to get also an Ecology degree and to search mechanisms to combine two activities that could have seemed antagonistic at the beginning, but at the end would become the source to obtain the sensations that he wants to express in his composition.

In the beginning 1996 he decided to start a project that in the future would be called “Viuda Negra” becoming the vocalist, the head and the main band’s motivator in its entire trajectory.
