Born on: 09.05.1988
Born in Boston, Massachusetts on May 9th 1988 he lived in the US until he was 4. He moved to Quito, his parents’ native city.
His first instrument was the violin starting to play it when he was 5. At the age of 11 he returned to Boston where his father lived. His father is one of the best and most famous bassist in Ecuador and would become an important push up for Matia’s interest on the bass.
He came back to Ecuador in 2000 and in 2003 he got into the Contemporary Music Institute’s Youth Program from the University San Francisco de Quito, where right now he continues studying music as a pre - degree student.
On January 2005 he participated in the “5-Week Summer Performance Program” in Berkley College of Music in Boston where he got a scholarship to go to University as a regular student.
Viuda Negra is the most serious project which he has been involved in all his life even if he participates in other side projects.
