Biography
Diego Della Novella (guitar) met Paulo Cinza (keyboards) during his high school years. In 1995 they decided to form a Maiden-similar band, the Helisir, with which they implement the first original songs. The line-up changes constantly, until, after the temporary departure of Cinza (during which Della Novella plays the beloved hard-rock in the "Shock"), the group changed its name to "Artax" and recruits Alex Girotti on drums and The Phaser on bass.
Thanks to the extraordinary technique of the new drummer (pupil of Tullio De Piscopo), their sound turns towards an effective speed-metal. At this point they need a new singer, who is identified in Dave Dell'Orto (then known as Dave Shot), golden voice with experience in opera; the name of the band changes again in Exile. In September of the year 1998, Crash joins the band like second guitar. Exile joins several competitions, with excellent results, and in 1999 developed its first demo, which had good reviews from the press, but lose bassist, immediately replaced by Simone Pesenti Gritti (musician known in the underground of Varese). They start a long series of concerts, but Exile split up because different needs of the members.
In 2003, Cinza, which has continued to write new material, shows the tracks to Della Novella, who appreciates the quality. The original "power" is very far, so he is proposed to call the project "Even", collecting the consent of his friend. Once completed the drafting of the pieces, they call the old friends, rebuilding for 5/6 the old team (the only Crash is excluded): the debut album, "Think Before Speaking" is realized in the new Blue Studios Recordings, established from Della Novella in early 2003.
The critics receive him benevolently, appreciating the eclectic blend of hard rock, metal, pop and melancholic atmospheres, creating for them the term "Dark Aor".
