Agonija - Biography
Biography
The group was founded by four like-minded minors Gintas "Petras" Pertyla - vocals, guitar, Andrius "Plikas" Savickas (aa) - bass, ?varcas "Farshas" - guitar, Erikas Erikulis Zigmantavičius - percussion. The youngsters did not hold the instrument in their hands, but dreamed of getting on stage and playing. It was difficult for Peter to combine vocals with playing guitar, so Vaidas "Me?ka" Me?kauskas joined the group.
Shortly afterwards, the first concert took place in 1991 in Kazlų Rūda. The group debuted with bands from other cities: PORFIRIA (Alytus), NECROPSY (later changing its name to DISSECTION, Vilnius), TVANAS (Kaunas), KRY?IUS (Kazlų Rūda).
After a while, Bald (aa) and Bear left the group. Their places were taken by Gintaras Slyva Slyvinskas - guitar (came from Jonava group KREMACIJA) and Dainius Stonis - bass. This line-up has been played and performed for the longest time. AGONIJA has played in concerts in Jonava (sauna), Ukmergė, Utena, Kaunas, Vilnius.
1993 At the end of the 19th century, Slyva and Stonis went to other cities to study. The remaining members played the experimental lineup for some time to come. Drums were played by Vaidas Stučinskas, guitars were played by Erikulis and ?varcas, bass was played by Virgis Gaurelis (aa) (AUDRONA?A). Later, vocalist Gintas went into military service, Erikulis started a family. The rehearsal space was lost and the group quietly split up. In 1994, the group merged for one event in ?iauliai. Played on the Student website "Feast of the Fire Demons".
After 18 years, at the urging of friends and acquaintances, an attempt was made to restore AGONY. It was impossible to assemble the old line-up. The drummer has left for England, the vocalist works in Germany (he managed to sing at the Street Music Day in Jonava). Schwartz suggested Erik Imbras (ex BAD REPUTATION, ex RAINDROPS, SHINE) try to play the old pieces and he agreed. The pieces were selected from old videos.
Bassist Almantas Lamanauskas (ex BAD REPUTATION, SHINE) and Jonas Simokaitis - drums (ex ROTARY PUMP) joined ?varcas and Erikas. After Peter left to work in Germany and did not return, vocalist Julius Miliukas (ex DESTAIN) joined the band. This line-up was played in 2011. At the Sawmills and Giedfest festivals. Following these events, the band was invited to play Ont Grind. Julius was replaced by Adomas Petrauskas, and the bass was played by guitarist Erikas. Since both vocalists brought their own charm to the group, it was decided to perform with two vocalists at the Welders festival.
