With Passion - Biography
This band's profile is 'invisible', meaning that it's much less prominent on the site - either because it's incomplete, or maybe doesn't entirely fit MS format.
Biography
With Passion formed in the summer of 2002 from the ashes of local Sacramento bands Athena in Hades, Severance and Impulse 120. They quickly made their mark on the Northern California scene, playing shows with a wide array of national metal and hardcore acts including As I Lay Dying, Between the Buried and Me, Himsa, Misery Signals, The Red Chord, Scars Of Tomorrow, Six Feet Under, Stretch Armstrong, Terror, and many more.
After some line-up changes, the band arrived at its current line-up of Samuel McLeod on vocals and keyboards, Shaun Gier on guitar and backing vocals, Andrew Burt on guitar, Michael Nordeen on bass, Brandon Guadagnolo on keyboards, and Jacob Peete on drums.
With Passion's latest release, "In The Midst Of Bloodied Soil", an EP on Reflections Of Ruin Records, earned the following review from ScenePointBlank.com:
"Combining brutal fast paced velocity with relentless technical sonic booms and an underlying rising hand laced with triumph, what more could you ask for in a metal record?"
With Passion also appear on AMP Magazine's Volume 3 Metal Comp, alongside The Dillinger Escape Plan, Mastodon, Hate Eternal, The Black Dahlia Murder, and Shadows Fall.
With Passion are now beginning work on their Earache debut, to be released worldwide in 2005.

The band broke up in the summer of 2007. Guitarist Jeff Morgan issued the following update:
"Yes, it's true. September 22 [at the Underground in Roseville, California] is planned to be the last show we ever play as WITH PASSION. Many of you seem very upset by this, but it is for the best and I will explain why...
"We have been struggling to keep afloat in the music for at least two years now. We had high hopes that our new album would pull us out of that struggle, but instead it happened that our album was released with less than expected promo and distro and we ended up unable to even get on the road to support it. We have decided to cut our losses.
"Many of you are fans of our other/previous band CONDUCTING FROM THE GRAVE. John [Abernathy, guitar], Greg [Donnelly, drums], and I have decided that we should continue again as CONDUCTING FROM THE GRAVE and Steven [Lovas] will be joining us on bass. Former vocalist of CONDUCTING FROM THE GRAVE, Drew, will be completing the line-up for the band. Fidel [Campos, vocals] will also be returning to his previous band, CYANIDE ERA.
"We are now writing new material for CONDUCTING FROM THE GRAVE that should be posted online within the next couple months. We all believe that this decision is in our best interest as musicians and in our fans' best interest as well. We appreciate all of your support and we hope that all of you will continue to support us in these other musical projects.
"In summation, it seemed that two years ago when us CONDUCTING FROM THE GRAVE dudes joined with Shaun and Mike that it was the best idea to solve both CONDUCTING FROM THE GRAVE and WITH PASSION's lineup changes, but now since they have both quit and nothing is working out for us as far as tours and album promotion, it seems that this is the right time to let the name WITH PASSION die. We will still continue to write metal together as CONDUCTING FROM THE GRAVE and play locally, but we don't plan on touring anytime soon.
"It's been good times and we appreciate all the support anyone has given to us and any previous lineup of this band, and we hope to see as many of you at our last show as possible."
