Biography
ECLIPTIC SUNSET began in the year 1998, starting from the initiative of Alejandro Medina (guitars, lyrics and composer from then on) under an instrumental concept, based on classic guitars and violin. Then, at the end of 1999, after the composition of new songs which incorporated new musicians, ECLIPTIC SUNSET became a complete band, one of Melodic Black Metal with folkloric and atmospheric touches.
The songs began to be recorded in a recording studio as part of the future full-length CD. Also added here were more classical instruments, such as the flute and contrabass in addition to the classical guitar and violin. In the year 2001, during the recording and after two live performances with local bands in Salta and Jujuy the first formation of the band was dissolved completely. The recording continued ahead, however, finishing the recording of all the songs. The rest of the instruments and parts of the bass and the keyboard were recorded by session musicians. Soon enough, the debut CD called "From These Dried Lands" was released in April 2003, edited and distributed by FURIAS RECORDS / ORION MUSIC ENTERTAINMENT .
After the release, several lineups existed as well as a few live dates, but the lack of interest in the band's concept and dedication lead to the quick dissolution of the lineups. ECLIPTIC SUNSET's second release continued to be written and recorded, and in 2007, despite all the lineup changes, "Of Torment and Grief" was released, again edited and distributed by FURIAS RECORDS / ORION MUSIC ENTERTAINMENT. This album had some musical changes, now under the style Black Death Folk Metal. A video clip (the first video of the band) was included as an interactive track. The song used was "Nine Broken Sorrows", and the video was filmed in August of the 2005, in the landscapes of "Quebrada de San Lorenzo", Salta - Capital. Argentina.
ECLIPTIC SUNSET is searching for new musicians to continue with this quest. Until a recording lineup is finalized, new songs are already being composed for the next CD, with founder Alejandro Medina on guitar and voices, and Pedro Gennari on lead guitar.
