Curse of Denial is a metal band from Cleveland, OH, USA featuring members of Decrepit, Descend and Pawns in Chess.Our debut full length album The 13th Sign is just about finished. It's been a long time coming. For those that are unfamiliar with us, we entered the studio as Pawns In Chess, a three piece instrumental band formed in late 2012 consisting of Jeremy McLellon on guitar, Shawn Hapney on drums, and Michael Perez on bass (Mike and Shawn ex-Descend), and exited the studio as a five piece with the addition of Rob Molzan (Decrepit, From the Depths) on vocals and Gary Heinrich (Descend) on guitar. We've only played one show with this line up, but played many as the original three piece. We cannot be happier with the outcome of the album. Dave "Big Metal" Johnson at BadBack Studios did a tremendous job and had tremendous patience with us as this band literally formed in his studio. Also, Thomas Haywood at Redefining Darkness Records gave us a boost in confidence in signing us after only hearing a few rough mixed songs. We wish to publicly thank him. One last thing, there is a song dedicated to the late Jim Konya, with guest appearances from some other Cleveland metal musicians. Look for our album in early 2017.
