Biography

Born out of the Chicago metal scene, TWELFTH GATE is determined to solidify their place among the underground metal elite by recording and releasing albums that continue to pummel the listener with their brand of metal. Armed with crippling riffs, intense guitar work, a crushing rhythm section, and powerful vocals molded together to generate songs stocked full of the band's trademark progressive and thrash elements, TWELFTH GATE is ready to take on every last corner of the metal world.

Since the release of Summoning, their highly praised 2003 debut on the label Crash Music, the band has been busy writing and growing as a force to be reckoned with. Now, with the addition of ex-Oppressor guitarist Jim Stopper, bringing his technical death metal riff mastery to the table, the band has really stepped it up more than a few notches and produced an incredible follow-up that promises to deliver darker, heavier, more apocalyptic songs, and once again proving that TWELFTH GATE's music is both organic and infectious.

Shortly after the release of Threshold of Revelation, original singer Scott Huffman decided to leave the band for both creative differences and reasons outside the band. After almost a year of searching and working with vocalists that could not fit the complete dynamic of the band and their music, TWELFTH GATE has finally found a singer that fits the band better than ever. Not only can he sing the old songs flawlessly, but he also brings a new approach with incorporating heavy vocals as well that will bring the band to a whole new level! However, the band has chosen to not make any official announcements regarding the vocalist position until the new album is done, but rest assured ? the band is currently working on new music and should hopefully have a new offering in early 2008.
