Biography
Formed in 2004, Savage Wizdom emerged from the ashes of Prowler when vocalist Steve Montoya decided to return to the local Santa Fe metal scene.
By late 2007, the group released their first full length release, No Time For Mercy, which featured Montoya, guitarists Wes Rivera and Chris Herrera, bassist Morris Branch and drummer Chris Salazar.
The group disbanded shortly after the release of the CD, but by early '08, Montoya had successfully put the band back together with a new line-up now featuring his son Steven on bass, guitarist Pablo Roybal and ex-Fear Of God drummer Steve Cordova.
Our music is bold mix of enough speed and crunch for modern day thrash mixed with the gallops and melody that are often associated with the power metal genre. Above all, we hope that people have fun with our music and are entertained if they come to one of our shows. We can’t wait to unleash this new animal in front of unsuspecting crowds, large or small.
