Biography
Rex Mundi were formed in the city of Katerini, Greece at the fall of 2002 by Jimi (guitar) and Guss (drums). After many line up changes the band started to find a stable formation in early 2004 when Theoharis handled the lead guitar duties and Panos the bass. New material was composed with this new line up and for a long time the band rehearsed without a singer until early 2005 when Chris 'CountRaven' Papadakis joined the band. Many concerts around Greece took place with the new singer including support acts for bands like Jag Panzer and Riot. At that time the band was heavily influenced by US power. In August 2006 the band supported Atheist at their gig in Thessaloniki and that was the last show of the band with Chris on the vocals. During that period the musical direction started getting more progressive and even more aggressive concluding in the departure of Chris in a friendly mood and the band started looking for a new singer. A few months later Nick Spiridakis (ex- Arkenstone) was called to fill the missing slot in Rex Mundi and a warp up gig with the new line up was supporting Deadsoul Tribe in Alexandroupoli. In January 2007 the band enters Underground Studio in Thessaloniki, Greece to record it's first EP entitled 'Balance Between Madness And Hope' with Akis Delilampou (Transcending Bizarre?) as the sound engineer and co-producer. The band's first EP is available in March 2007. Rex Mundi have shared the stage with bands such as Atheist, Deadsoul Tribe, Jag Panzer, Riot, Wastefall, Astra, Art Of Simplicity, Boomerang, Out Of The Lair, Sorrowful Winds, Dreamweaver, Innosense, Crystal Tears and many more. Rex Mundi members are/were also members of other bands as well: Jimi(ex-Ominous Sky), Guss(Entropia Utopia, Koronzon), Panos(Echidna), Nick (Soul Devoid, ex-Arkenstone)
