Biography
Melody, brutal guitar riffs, screams and growls. What more can anyone wish for in death metal?
This Israeli melodic death metal band, formed in 2005 after the slow dissolve of progressive metal band "Dammnation", is definitely worth listening to. After performing as the touring band of former Iron Maiden front-man Paul Di'anno, "Dammnation" called it quits and each member chose his own path, hence forming the band Prey For Nothing.
Wanting to expand their horizon in the extreme metal genre, Yaniv Aboudy (guitars) and Amir Solomon (bass) began a new project. Iftah Levy (drummer) joined them in 2006 and finally the pieces were falling in the right places. While songs were written and composed, the guys realised that there was one thing missing: the finishing touch of an extreme, yet precise front-man. The three turned to an old friend, Yotam "Defiler" Avni, who was at that time part of the technical metal band "Abed". Yotam joined Prey for Nothing and they immediately began working on their debut album.
Instead of becoming a copy-cat of bands like "Arch Enemy", "Death", "Metallica", "Carcass", "At The Gates" and many more, they decided to follow the same path, but throw in their own unique progressive style as well, in order to distinguish them from all the others.
By turning to sound wizard Jacob Hansen for producing their album, Prey For Nothing has already shown great professionalism and the will to take it further than most unsigned bands. As an expert of the metal genre, Hansen helped forging the magnificent debut "Violence Divine" between April and May 2007. Jacob described the young band as "shining musicians and composers, rejuvenating a genre that was told to be beaten by mediocrity."
Their album "Violence Divine" was due to be released world-wide in September 2008.
