A long time ago, I, Dan Skøtt, started a local Death Metal band called Soregasm with brothers, Jonas and Anders Quist. The band was active for about 2 years, but as they sought new challenges and evolved musically, I got less involved with the bands activities, and ended up parting ways with the band. The band evolved and Switched name to HateAthletes. I continued with my 2-man project, Sodomy Safari, and got to make a short 2-track demo called Animal Annihilators, before i stopped working on it. Some time went by, and i spiralled into a heavy depression, and lost contact with the most of my surroundings.

After a long time of soul searching i decided to go back to making music yet again, this time from a more serious and sinister perspective. My depression brough up alot of frustrations about the irrational and self-destructive behaviour of man, and i decided to start the project Anethera to channel that immense anger and contempt i possessed. The Result is a very sinister and experimental Doom Metal sound, with post-apocalyptic lyrical themes.

I am not in any way trying to be innovative through my musical work, the only purpose it serves is to channel my anger into something constructive that other people can listen to, and hopefully also relate to. I am not in any way following any trends, the music i make is my own, and takes shape after my dreams and thoughts, in my own image. I do not compromize.
