Biography
The band was founded in September 1997, and in the former line-up there were four people. Since all the people involved in the original project had already experienced live performing and songwriting, they decided to write their own classic Heavy Metal songs. After a fifth element, the keyboard player, joined the band, a new musical awareness gained ground, and in March 1998 their first self-produced demo-cd was recorded.
This self production, titled Soul Foreclosures, deals with the Shakespearian tragedy Othello. The work consists of a melting of both Hard and Heavy songs and compositions from the Renaissance and Baroque period, all drawn from original books. The demo got excellent reviews in many specialized magazines. Some copies are still available by contacting the band members. Giuseppe Careddu on vocals, Mario Scagliola on bass guitar and Roberto Risso on drums, who are not with the band anymore, played on the demo.
After a complete change in the rhythm section the band started performing gigs in clubs and pubs near its hometown, the most important of which was a concert in the competition Rock Targato Italia 1998. After another change in the line up and the coming in of a new singer, the band decided to write new songs in a more symphonic Heavy/Power Metal style, with baroque and neoclassical influences and some progressive sections. Nowadays, the band is formed by Andrea Marchisio (vocals), Christian Rosso (guitars), Foca Torchia (keyboards), Alessandro Mussa (bass) and Maurizio Anello (drums).
On the 19th May 2001, Desdemona won the critics award at the first edition of the competition Asti Nuovi Rumori, organized by the Consulta Giovanile of Asti. At the end of the summer the first full-lenght cd of the band is going to be available, under the title Lady of the Lore, and it is going to be released by the Italian label Northwind Records.
