1995:
Eldur formed the band Thule along with a drummer named Sveinn Snorri Magnússon. Thule recorded material through the years but only seven songs can be found officially on the split demo tape with Asmodeus (sold out). Also two amongst them ended on a Icelandic compilation CD called "Fire And Ice".
1998:
That year, after Thule spliting up, Eldur changed the name into Curse and kept it going as a solo project. Few months later the first Curse demo was recorded including 6 songs but one of them got damaged and could not be released. A year before, Eldur had formed another band with the creature called Forn, which got the name Potentiam.
1999:
This demo however wasn´t released until in ´99 when Eldur had recorded 5 new songs. The overall 10 track demo CD-r got the ame "Dimensions Of Scattered Sound And Silence". This demo is sold out today in overall 150 copies.
2000:
In December ´00, No Colours and Eldur made a deal for 2 Fullength albums and 1 Mini CD.
2001:
After the NC promo "Battlefield of the gods", the Mini CD was released entitled "Cursed Be Thy Name", including 3 songs.
2002:
In the year of '02 No Colours released Curse's debut CD "Dead Sun Rise". One song from that album also ended up on a No Colours compilation CD.
2003:
The year of '03, Eldur started writing material for another Curse album but found himself going far from the Cursed style. The material ended up as a new solo project called Fortid. The same year No Colours rec. released Fortid's debut "Völuspá part I - Thor's Anger".
2004:
Eldur recorded a new song called "In life & In death", which is 19:30 minute long in playing time. It is was unclear at this point what would be done with this recording. In september, two new members, Faun & Mistur came to assist Eldur and the Curse, and in december the final member Maddi joined in making it a full lined up band. Curse ended the year with a live show and laying down drum recordings for the next full lenght album "Slaughter Of The stars".
2005:
In january, the guitars were recorded for the album. After that, the studio work was layed to rest for many months for various reasons. I march, Curse recorded two new songs in studio Hel called "Red is the deepest black" and "Painting The Devil On The Wall". No release plans were set on those songs. It wasn't until very late this year that Eldur decided to continue the "Slaughter of the stars" album and record the bass himself.
The year ended with the album half-finished.
2006:
"Slaughter Of The stars" was finally ready early this year and shortly after that a new record deal was signed with the American BLACMETAL.COM records. The album however was not released until november and by that time, Curse had recruited a new drummer named Kristján Einarsson. This new deal also included the release of the 19:30 long "In life & In death" as a split CD with the Norwegian band Sykdom.
