Biography

ARBITRATOR was formed in Kirov, Volgo-Vyatka economic region, on the 16th of January 1994. The very first line-up was formed by guitarist Wolf, drummer Tormentor, bassist Axel and vocalist Lice. It was initiated by Wolf to play thrash metal music and tell about world corruption, wars and inner search. Axel previously played in XYZ rock band. Tormentor has had already experience in writing songs in some of previous school-projects. Lice previously sung in GANGRENA.
The band performed their first live show in the 16th of December, 1994.

In February 1995 Tormentor left the band to join SATAN CHURCH and was replaced by Blacksmith. From May 1994 to June 1995 ARBITRATOR released several rehearsal tapes including Minatory. The first demo tape titled Exception Allegory was released in May 1996.
Lice and Axel left the band in summer 1996 for personal reasons. Lice left shortly before the planned live shows to focus on his university studies and job. The new line-up was formed by bassist Nick, Blacksmith and Wolf, the latter of who also handled the band's vocals. In December 1996 Blacksmith was fired from the band. He had big alcohol problems.
Blacksmith was replaced ex- KILL’S BAND drummer Andrew and the band performed their first live show with the new stable line-up in September 1997.

In August 1998 ARBITRATOR locked in the “Rocka-Rolla” studio to record their MC titled Kill Their Religion. In September the band broke off the record sessions to perform live show with GRENOUER, GALGEN and other at Death Panorama festival in Perm. The fastest parts of those songs could remind SODOM or KREATOR with the screaming voice. The tape was released by an independent label called Blacksmith productions and had many positive reviews.
In 1999 Nick wanted to focus on his one-man band RISSENTIMENT and Andrew left ARBITRATOR to join THE ABC AND THE DEVILS. Both were replaced by bassist Den and drummer Alex.

In 2000 the band had several great gigs. The following year thrashers from Kirov recorded Voice of the Dead, which was a cleaner-sounding album than previous tape. It is delivering solid and deeply rooted in the 80es thrash metal. After the intro, which based on an OVERKILL mid-tempo, the title track starts furious and fast, while Wolf's screams in a very involving way. The album underlying themes are wars and terroristic threats of our times. It was recorded at Profy Line Studio, Kirov.
Alex and Den left band due to other musical activities. They were replaced by bassist Johann and drummer Igor.

In October 2003 the band got signed by Metalism Records, an independent label owned by Alexander Pastukhov. Voice of the Dead was released on the 31st of July 2004 by Soyuz Music/MetalAgen and Metalism. Around this time the band started rehearsal sessions for the next record titled Children of Apocalypse and released by Metalism Records on the 8th of May 2007. The main theme of this album is the tragedy of Hiroshima and the terrifying consequences of the use of the atomic bomb. In general, the album dwells upon the nuclear danger and threat for all the world. Soon after the recording sessions of the album, Igor left the band to join DIVERSIA. He was replaced by Pusher (Dimah). From November 2007 to June 2008 the band took part in the metal band competition in Moscow. In July 2008 Pusher left to join XE-NONE. The new recruit of the band was K.Z. The new line-up had several great gigs in Moscow, Yaroslavl, Nizhniy Novgorod and Izhevsk.

On 11th of April 2010 ARBITRATOR released Peace by Force, the next album, on Thrash Massacre Records. It is a sequel of Children of Apocalypse. The lyrics on the album is about Tsar Bomb, Novaya Zemlya proving ground, Japanese fishing vessel Daigo Fukuryu Maru, dusted with fallout, operation Dropshot and victims of atomic explosions. K.Z. left the band due to personal reasons and Pusher rejoined as session drummer for Peace by Force Tour in April 2010. On the 13th of July
ARBITRATOR was a support act to the metal legend MEGADETH in Moscow. It was the first gig of the band for 1700 headbangers.
In July 2011 Igor rejoined ARBITRATOR. The band took part in record-sessions for the MASTER, Russian metal act, tribute album released by CD-Maximum. The classic Master’s track Tsar was recorded live at Sorokin Studio in Nizhniy Novgorod.

In 2012 ARBITRATOR slowed down their activities.

In 2013 the band returned to stage and started to write brand new songs.
