The first ideas for the band started in late 2005 under the name of Mindrealms , and some early demos were made by Jani Liimatainen. At this point the 'band' only consisted of Jani Liimatainen and Jani 'Hurtsi' Hurula. Jukka Koskinen and Mikko Harkin joined shortly in these early stages, and a singer was approached to get things started. However, this singer turned it down, and it wouldn't be before 2007 until the band was completed by Timo Kotipelto for the first album. The making of the first album was a fact. And at August 28th, 2009 Gather the Faithful was released."
In 2007 Jani parted ways with Finnish power metal act Sonata Arctica, a band he since 1996 had been with as one of the founding members. With his departure from one of Finland's biggest music exports in recent years, all eyes are upon his newest project, Cain's Offering.
Drawing it's musical influence from both the classic hard rock scene, the fast-paced European power metal and a very modern heavy metal sound, Cain's Offering is, just as expected, a perfect example of today's living and breathing Finnish music scene.
Joining Jani in his quest for world domination - or rapid success, whichever comes first - is vocalist Timo Kotipelto (Stratovarius, Kotipelto), keyboardist Mikko Harkin (Solution.45, Mehida, ex-Sonata Arctica, ex-Wingdom, ex-Kenziner), bassist Jukka Koskinen (Norther, Wintersun) and drummer Jani "Hurtsi" Hurula (Paul Di'Anno).
Yes, this is a tour-de-force of who's-who in the Finnish heavy metal scene, and yes, this does sound like a wet dream come through for all fans of melodic metal. And guess what - the product exceeds all expectations.
With the debut album, "Gather The Faithful", ready for a summer 2009 release, Cain's Offering waste no time, and backed up by such strong record labels as Marquee/Avalon in Japan/Asia and Frontiers Records in Europe/USA, and with the full support of Intromental Management worldwide, there's no doubt that 2009 will be the year where the Finnish metal scene finds a new hot exponent.
