Biography
TOYZ' s official date of birth is 1997 in Paris (France) In the early 80's Olivier and Jean-Christophe started playing together in a Parisian Rock band called " 2ème Sous-sol ". In 1996, Jean-Christophe, joined Luke (Vincers, Ryxx,?) in a Hard Rock band called " Coventry ". One year later, the band broke up: Jean-Christophe and Luke then joined Olivier, whose band " Baba Yaga " had also just split up. Then the band started touring and worked on a first album. Yet, the line-up changed several times between 1997 and 2001. It's only when Jérôme (Summer Rhapsody, Superposition Destructive, Hardblues Combo) et Chris (Opium, Anonym') joined the band in 2001 that a more permanent and stable structure settled. It allowed 6 years of fruitful collaboration with amazing creations. The band regularly performed on stage in Paris and each performance met a frank success. In 2003, TOYZ signed a contract with Khalil Turk at Escape Music: Toyz was the very first French rock band to sign with this famous melodic rock record company. After one year of hard work in studio in France, the post-production and mixing were confided to Corey McFayden (Brighton Rock, Panik, Miles Above, The Ladder?.) in Toronto, Canada. In 2004, the album "House of Cards" was released and achieved a great success around the world; Melodic rock lovers greeted the album which led to a series of successful gigs. In 2006, TOYZ started working on a second album. The writing of new songs had been on its way when in early 2007 Jérôme decided to leave the band in order to follow its own tracks and inspiration. Now TOYZ is preparing a second album, which will be released in the beginning of 2009, with Rickey on bass. TOYZ's music is based on a powerful but always melodic rock. Influences are varied : Foreigner, Toto, Van Halen, Bon Jovi, Deep Purple, Dokken, Danger Danger, Hardline, Threshold, TNT, Harem Scarem?
