Biography
Symbolyc were born in the summer 2003 from a project of friends who decided they would approach the musical roots of old thrash metal. The band initially focused on playing Metallica and Sepultura covers. At the time of the band's formation, the line-up was: Sossio Aversana (rhythm guitar), Raffaele Pezzella (drums), and Gennaro Campanile (bass). Alessandro Mormile (lead guitar) joined near the end of 2003. The band name Symbolyc was chosen to allude to influential death metal pioneers, Death. Little more than half a year was spent searching for a vocalist, and in the winter of 2003, Walter Basile joined the band.
After working endlessly on material, August 2004 saw the band's first promo released, "Souls In The Dark". Problems arose when Campanile was unable to fulfill the band's expectations, and tensions picked up. He left early 2005 as a result of the complications, leaving the band without a bassist for their next recording. However, in March of the same year, the band found their bassist in Salvio Silvestre. Basile later made the decision that, for personal reasons, he would have to leave the band. Just two months after his departure, Andrea Tilberis (Beyond The Rage) joined as the new vocalist.
2006 saw the band's follow-up EP, "Wingless" released, but not before some adversity. Tilberis left just before the recording process, but the band were saved when Claudio Scarano came into the scene. In 2007 the band would focus on recording their debut album; however, they would once again need a new vocalist as Scarano, to the surprise of the band, decided to leave. Alessandro Galiano was then brought in to take over the vocals duties for the recording process, as the band decided to release a demo version of songs that would later appear on their full-length debut.
"Within The Realms Of Human Awareness" was released in 2008 without much difficulty. Prior to its release the band made several live appearances across the country in order to promote their new sound, and with Diego Laino taking over the vacant vocalist position, the band are finally ready to reach their potential. Having since released their pounding full-length debut, Symbolyc are looking to make a future for themselves within the metal scene.
