Biography
Italian death metal act, Septycal Gorge, was founded originally by Diego Riccobene (guitars) and Mariano Somà (vox), soon joined by Davide Boeri (drums) with the aim to spread a technical and unrelenting brutality.
Lots of lineup changes didn't stop the first 2 years of the band life, which brought a large number of shows (opening for band such as Napalm Death, Dismember and many others) and the recording of a 4 tracks demo CD, Delivering Hidden Mutilation, that helped to spread the name of Septycal Gorge in the whole death metal underground community. Impressed by the songs, Czech label Mutilated Records offered to release the first full length album of the band, Growing Seeds Of Decay, on July 2006. The album got a lot of visibility and became sold out in about 6 months. So Sevared Records, on January 2007 offered to repress the whole CD with 4 bonus tracks taken from the old promo.
In late 2006, Marco Losano (guitars) joined the lineup and for the following year the band was dedicated to a strong live activity in Italy and Europe, attending some huge death metal events as Neurotic Deathfest, Ludwigshafen Deathfest, Obscene Extreme, and promoting their music along UK, Germany, Switzerland, Netherlands, Slovakia and more. However the lineup never gained a real stability, after the departures of the bassist Maurizio Lucà and the drummer Davide.
But now Septycal Gorge is ready to go. After the homerecording of 3 brand new promo tracks that showed the progression of the overall sound, the band signed a deal in January 2008 with the label, Permeated Records, for the next full leght album, due for the end of the year. The lineup is now fixed with the entries of Davide Billia (already drums in Putridity and Halphas) and Clod "The Ripper" De Rosa (bass in Blasphemer and Modus Delicti). The band is stronger than ever, the 3 old promo tracks were part of "Davinci deathcode" split CD available on middle 2008, and now the 2nd full length album is ready to be released. Erase the Insignificant will deliver a more mature and technical but still brutal and blasting assault of pure death metal, in veins of californian gods Deeds Of Flesh and Severed Savior.
