Gate Of Sorrow is the atmospheric metal band with female soprano from Czech Republic. The band was created in 2006 by changing the name of the original band Gate. The name was changed to adapt to the new musical style. We play melodic hardcore music.

Chapter I.
GATE
The original band GATE was founded in 1997 by Roman Tureček (guitar and vocals), Du?an Tureček (drums) and Bohumil Zajíček (bass) in Uherský Ostroh. In terms of genre, the band plays mostly death-trash metal. As time progresses, the band had had concerts in the nearby concert ventures and metal fans have started to recognize the band. In 1998 the band made a record Hazy Shore of the Styx and four years later the record Cradle of Evil was born in the IBS recording studio.
Chapter II.
APPLICANT FOR GILLOTINE
Later, the band has started to consider adding a female vocalist and approached Alena Pradlovská, the Slovak Philharmonic opera singer. In 2004, this cooperation resulted in so far the most melodious record Applicant for Gillotine. This record was made in the famous metal studio SHARK. This album has also received good reviews from the famous rock magazine SPARK (04/2005).
Chapter III.
GATE OF SORROW
In 2005, a lot has changed with regards to genre and band members. Ludvík Čihánek (keyboards) has become a permanent band member and later also Milada Miltáková (vocals, cello). Milada Miltáková has been in charge of lyrics since then. In terms of genre, the band GATE is starting to play with their music experience and thoughts of both musicians - and this has resulted in more melodious tones. To further demonstrate this genre-wise and membership change, the band name is slightly changed to GATE OF SORROW.
Chapter IV.
NEW SOUND In 2006, the band is working hard in order to find material for their new record. They are searching for and discovering new possibilities in terms of sound, music. However, this experimentation with sound and songwriting results in the need to find many compromises. The band is checking the acceptance of the new material at the concerts in Moravia and Bohemia and the audience reaction and the energy in general was always very strong.
Chapter V.
2008
The 2008 has been significant in many respects.
In March, the guitarist becomes Libor Miklá? who has replaced Simon Rapant. Since this replacement, he has become the dynamic force in the band and the work on the record and concerting as well intensified.
In July, the band Gate Of Sorrow is invited to the radio competition ROCKMAX 12 and thanks to the strong support of fans, they have won.
In August, the band starts to cooperate officially with the music management agency Racin Music (namely with the manager Ivan Racin).
Chapter VI.
FUTURE
The latest album ENTER THROUGH THE GATE was released in April 2009 and its baptism took place in the famous club Masters Of Rock Café (special guest was Victor Smolski of RAGE). The band is going on a tour throughout the Czech Republic and possibly abroad now. It is also possible that some songs could be used in the movies. This year, the band promises many surprises for the fans, lots of concerts and ideas that are already in their head while they prepare their next record..
