Biography

The deathunity of May Result was born in June 1995. Idea was to form an extreme band firmly rooted in traditional metal of Blackdeath. During the first couple of months, first line-up was completed: Kozeljnik and Rastko on guitars, Ilija on drums, Srdjan handling the vocals, Vladan on bass and Predrag on keyboards. Also, first few songs were made and group got the opportunity to play live for the first time.

First demo Ignoramus et Ignorabimus appeared in '97 on limited tape version, having 4 songs of grim darkened death metal. Soon after Vladan left the band, Rastko switched on to bass guitar and the new guitarist Dusan was introduced.

Some months later, songs for the upcoming debut album were arranged and the recording session took place in April, at Kazablanka studio in Belgrade. 10 tracks here, showing band in a slightly different manner. Music was way melodic than before, full of sympho keyboard parts and strong influence of traditional heavy metal riffing. Group got signed with now defunct Italian label Seven Arts Prod. and supposed to get this album released by the end of the year. Unfortunately, label was experiencing big financial problems those days and put this debut release on hold. A year after, bigger problems have occurred and label was forced to close down. Anyhow, band moved on and played some live shows in Serbia.

The year '99, Srdjan and Predrag are leaving the collective, being replaced by Glad (on vocals) and Iva (on keyboards). Group signed a 2-record deal with Austrian CCP Records, which finally made the release of their first album possible. Gorgeous Symphonies Of Evil was out in June '00, being well supported by some live shows after. Until the end of the year, Iva was kicked out and her replace was Milan (known for his work in Grom Records).

Band continued to perform live, patiently preparing songs for the new album. Finally, Kazablanka studio was booked, for summer '01. Two months of hard work have paid off and brought up 7 long tracks breathing with truly uncontrollable energy, a way more faster, darker and aggressive than before. Band's sound was really improved and refreshed with tons of new elements. A real Devilry in well-paced black/death metal form. Tmina was released in December and it marked the path this group will go from now on ... live promotion went great as well, being held in Serbia, Hungary, Czech Republic etc. The response from the public was fantastic.

At that time, Kozeljnik and Ilija were also playing in a black metal horde namely The Stone (K. still does) and due to their huge obligations there, May Result was on hold for almost two years. In summer '03, they got back with the idea about the new material. Meanwhile, they signed a new 2-record deal, now with Serbian label called Rock Express Record.

The end of the year saw the release of group's mini-album entitled U Slavu Rogova Nasih. CD includes two completely new songs, one old re-recorded song, one live song, a cover of Norwegian Gehenna and complete demo re-released here.

Afterwards, May Result contributed on Romanian part of Storming The East tour with Primordial, Negură Bunget and others. It all served well as a prelude to the upcoming third album. The recording process of Svetogrdje lasted for three months and was finally done in October '04. Here, band calmed down tempo a bit, not holding back the aggressivity and grimness, all the gloomy and freezing atmosphere they were known for. There are eight really long songs (+ intro and outro), each standing on its own, not letting the listener walk away from it so easily ...

On a big surprise, only a few months after the release date, longtime drummer Ilija decides to leave the tribe, due to a fact he was not at all satisfied with the group's achievements during their career. With this thing happened, May Result had to be put on hold for a second time. Kozeljnik went on to fully concentrate on his work in The Stone, Rastko was doing his time in the army. Nothing happened until almost a year after, when new drummer Ved (from Serbian band Simargal) joined in. They were back on the track, but not even a couple of months have passed, Rastko makes the same decision as Ilija and with practically the same reasons leaves the group. Soon after, The Stone guitarist Demonetras was asked to fill in on bass and is a full-time member now. They finally begun with the rehearsals and the very result came in a form of a live-recording (of their 10th year anniversary concert), which later got released and called Decenija Crnog Plamena. They had a stable line-up like this for two years, but at the end of '07, while having nearly all the songs for the next album prepared, Ved was no longer really satisfying the needs of the band and was told to leave.

A month after, new drummer L.G. joined the rank and soon they had all the songs for the upcoming album well-practiced and arranged and were ready to enter the recording room. This time, choice fell on "Draft" studio and the result is a blasting 35-minute long full-length album, named Slava Smrti, considered the best record May Result did by now. This will be out by the end of '08 on BattleGod Productions from Australia, so be sure to make a warm welcome, or it will freeze your skin ...
