The leading German death/black metal band MYSTIC CIRCLE completes the half dozen - their sixth album "Open the Gates of Hell" is due to be released.
The infernal trio from Worms is undoubtelly one of the most touring bands in Europe and could earn themselves an excellent status already.
MYSTIC CIRCLE were founded back in 1999 by bassist/singer Beelzebub and after three demo-releases they released their debut "Morgenröte" in 1997, which was released on Last Episode, followed by the albums "Drachenblut"(1998) and "Infernal Satanic Verses"(1999).
Right from the start MYSTIC CIRCLE were continously touring playing eight (!) European tours with bands like Dimmu Borgir, Marduk, Cannibal Corpse, Gorgoroth, Old Man's Child and Immortal,, so basically with every well-known band in the death/black metal genre.
With their Massacre-debut and fourth album "The Great Beast" (2001) the trio made another step forwards especially Europewide and overseas. In 2001 MYSTIC CIRCLE played the No Mercy-festivals and an European tour with Marduk. The following album "Damien"(2002) brought the band the ultimate drummer with young Necrodemon, the 22-year old raw diamond gave the trio the last kick.
"Damien" was also surely followed by a tour with Deicide. With their new, sixth album "Open the Gates of Hell" the band shows an immense progress, technically lightyears ahead of their early releases.
Merciless black metal tracks meet superheavy, doomy riffs, who are very influenced by traditional metal.
A great variety of songs found their way on the new album and the eight smashers mark the way best album of the band so far.
The album was produced perfectly heavy and powerful by well-known producer Gerhard Magin and with "Wings of Death" the satanic trio even got an potential club hit coming up, which will be celebrated by the black community!
In late February 2005 the band signed a deal with Dockyard 1, the new company formed by Dirk Putzke, Christine Stephan (both ex-Sanctuary/Noise Records) and Piet Sielck (Iron Savior).
