A New Dawn - Biography
Biography
Failing from The Netherlands, A New Dawn was founded halfway in the 1990's as a side project by guitarist Elbert de Hoog. It was not until 2005, that A New Dawn became a band with on a mission: To change the scene of female fronted metal, a genre that was dominated by operatic vocals and thick layers of keyboards and orchestration.
The music of A New Dawn finds its roots in the 1980's metal scene, a raw edged, guitar orientated form of metal, that is filled with energy and melody. The music is completed with not one, but two lead female vocalists, bringing a wide range of melody and harmony to the music. Not only on recordings, but also live. The vocals are completed with the occasional grunts, that give the sound a rough edge.
A New Dawn has recorded several full length albums, E.P.'s, DVD's and was featured on several compilation discs. The band has performed live both nationally and internationally and shared the stage with bands like Epica, Delain, After Forever and shared the bill on festivals with Nightwish, Testament, Amon Amarth and many more. A New Dawn performed live in The Netherlands, Belgium, Germany, United Kingdom and Slovenia and received great reviews on their performances. Bottom line is, that the band wants to put on a show, that the bandmembers would like to attent themselves: Energetic and melodic, just like the music of the band.
The band is currently working on new recordings and is performing live on a regular basis. Be sure to check them out. It will be worth it!
