Lascaille's Shroud was started in 2008 by Brett Windnagle as a solo project to bring the writings of Welsh writer Alastair Reynold's sci-fi book series "Revelation Space" to life in the form of progressive death metal. Windnagle's first output was in the form of a 5 track EP titled Leaving Earth Behind released through Masters of Metal Productions on Septemeber 25, 2012. His second album, also released through Master of Metal Productions, is entitled Interval 01: Parallel Infinities - The Inner Universe and was released on January 8, 2013 and created an original story arc based of many of his sci-fi influences from Alastair Reynolds, Stephen Baxter, and Isaac Asimov - as well as movies and video games such as Sunshine, 2001: A Space Odyssey, and the Mass Effect series.
