Biography
Vampire rose from the proverbial grave when Hand Of Doom, Black String and Command heard a voice in the dark. They quickly put together their self-titled demo, 2012's Vampire. Immediately hailed by tastemakers - such as Darkthrone's Fenriz - and fans, who raided 300 copies of the demo in a week, Vampire's vicious yet evocative style set fire to convention. Buzzed and then signed by Century Media a year later, the Gothenburgers quickly set out to work on their debut. Released in the abyssal spring of 2014, Vampire's self-titled debut was heralded by the press as "the real deal", bestowing "macabre charm", and "uniquely unhinged". Vampire's start was auspicious. So, when they released Cimmerian Shade - a limited edition 10" - in 2015, it was also met with rabidly rave responses. In early 2016, Vampire joined Tribulation and Grave Pleasures for a European tour crossing seven countries.
Released in april 2017, the sophomore With Primeval Force was met with great reviews and nominated for a Swedish Grammy award. Following the album, the band made a handful of Scandinavian shows with fellows in Antichrist and joined legends Paradise Lost for a show. 2018 saw Vampire performing at a few festivals and shows around the Nordic countries, among others with Nifelheim and At The Gates.
Before time is nigh for new aural terrors in 2019, Vampire present an intense live video of "Knights Of The Burning Crypt" off their lastest LP: "The "Knights of the Burning Crypt" live video is a perfect ending of the With Primeval Force album cycle. The video was shot in Malmö last autumn on the mini-tour we did with At The Gates and Nifelheim. We're honoured to have been part of such a legendary team of bands. After the final gigs in 2018, we've gotten around to record semi-professional demo takes of a couple of songs that have been in the works for about a year. We're aiming for a first studio visit this spring to begin the "real" recording sessions for our third album. The new Vampire songs are partly a continuation of the more epic sides of With Primeval Force but there will be a lot of fast stuff, as well."
Furthermore, Vampire are confirmed to perform at 2019's Wacken Open Air, taking place August 1st to 3rd so be prepared? There's something scratching at the coffin lid.
