Biography
Arctic Plateau is a Rome-based post-rock/shoegaze band formed in June 2006 by the composer and lyricist Gianluca Divirgilio. In March 2007 he recorded a promo CD which eventually led to a contract for five albums with German record company Prophecy Productions (Alcest, Klimt 1918, Les Discrets) in 2008.
The first studio album, "On a Sad Sunny Day", was released on June 12, 2009; two years later, a split EP with the Prophecy Productions band Les Discrets entitled "Les Discrets / Arctic Plateau" was born. It was released on double CD and vinyl formats.
Fursy Teyssier (Les Discrets) has created the artwork for both Arctic Plateau studio albums and their mutual respect and friendship led the authors of the two respective projects to do guest vocals on both their latest works (Fursy Teyssier sings on Arctic Plateau's "Love and Loss" and Gianluca Divirgilio sings in French language on Les Discrets "Ariettes oubliees II: The Pleure Dans Mon Coeur").
The second Arctic Plateau studio album, "The Enemy Inside", was released on February 17, 2012, continuing to collect a lot of positive feedback everywhere.
