DE ARMA took concrete shape in 2009, three years after a ghostly vague idea had started to haunt Andreas Pettersson and inspired him to write melancholic music with strong heartening undertones. Soon it became clear to Pettersson that his new band would make other music backgrounds accessible than his black metal and folk endeavors. Drummer Johan Marklund joined and a first EP was recorded, released as split album with UK based metal band Fen, entitled "Towards The Shores Of The End" (Nordvis 2011). DE ARMA's music has a.o. been described as "of melancholic gracefulness with the power to engross" (musikreviews.de) and provoked statements like "it's rare that you hear music so beautiful, especially from the extreme metal end of the spectrum" (seaoftranquillity.org). The debut album "Lost, Alien & Forlorn" was recorded with the help of Frank Allain from Fen, DE ARMA now diving deeper into seven elaborate and personal, nevertheless unhamperedly erupting visions of obsessive feelings and ruminations. This is the soundtrack for the final days when you sit lonely in your room, the bleak light of the atomic winter crawling through the sallow window, watching the walls come down...
