Purpose is dead
And we have killed it
For there is no purpose in existing
We just are for no objective reason
There's just nothing outside of us
To give us anything to strive for
We must find something for ourselves
Some subjective reason to stay alive
Lest we gaze into the void
And the void will gaze right back at us

My growing agnosticism left me without anything to believe
There's nothing that I know
Not even if I can know
The only existence that I'm aware of is my own

In the grand scheme of things
I am insignificant
My existence is just
A speck of dust
My life has no intrinsic value
But nor does any other life
If you push the scale
High enough

Can't believe how strange it is to be anything at all
Is there anybody out there or just holographic zombies
Are all my interactions simulated by my mind
If so they are all pointless
If my brain simmulates the world
Who simmulates my brain
And who simmulates those
Simulation over simulation over simulation

It gets hard to find
Enjoyment in life
Knowing it will all
Forver go away
Perhaps happiness is just a moment
Not a state that you are in

There's no way to know
If anything besides myself exists
But I have to live my life as if it's all real
But deep inside i know it can be a lie
A cruel useful lie
My simulacrum

The truth can only be revealed
After I escape this simulation
But I am left in a state of despair
For I know that I can't go back
Perhaps the truth is worse than this lie
Perhaps there's nothing on the other side
There's only two paths
Reality or obliteration
