In late 1994, at the peak of their success, Hermética split up. There are two versions of the story, the one stated by Iorio, who said that the rest of the band was planning to fire him so he decided to leave, and the other stated by the rest of the band, who said that Iorio was kinda dictator and was taking most of the royalties for himself. In early 1995, Iorio formed Almafuerte, while O'Connor, Romano and Strunz formed Malón.
