Nightshade is really one of the top black metal albums. Great evil vocals, amazing guitarwork and song writing. Sooooo good. I'm going to listen to it right now.
I'm not sure I can explain what the music of Emperor means to me in a few shouts, poring dark. Obviously black metal is an acquired taste. But this was definitely the album that made the whole genre click for me.
