Cradle Of Filth - Cancel Wacken Performance Due To Injury

The Wacken Open Air website states that Cradle Of Filth will no longer be playing at the festival due to injuries Dani Filth has sustained in France at the Léz' Arts Scéniques festival. Triptykon will replace them.

According to the Léz' Arts Scéniques festival website, security had to be called for Dani Filth as he had become "aggressive and unmanageable" and "dangerous to himself and others".

An image has been posted online which appears to show Dani Filth being restrained on the floor by a security guard. That picture can be found here.

To make up for this, Wacken Open Air have confirmed that Cradle Of Filth are the first band announced to play at the Wacken Open Air in 2012.

Temple Of The Black Moon - New Band Feat. Cradle Of Filth, Gorgoroth, Anthrax Members

Lo and truly behold! A hellish new band has emerged from the quagmire that is the extreme music scene.

Imagine a cauldron bubbling over with the unsavory flavors of Tool and Celtic Frost, and seasoned with the likes of Immortal and At The Gates, and you'd be about halfway to describing the uncouth racket these guys have spat upon an unsuspecting planet.

Calling themselves the Temple Of The Black Moon, the group (who describe their output as "music for an evil film noir') are an eclectic stew of musicians/hell-raisers/miscreants in the ungainly form of Dani Filth (Cradle Of Filth), Rob Caggiano (Anthrax, The Damned Things), King ov Hell (formerly of Gorgoroth and Ov Hell) and John Tempesta (formerly of White Zombie and now drumming with The Cult).

Explaining the origins of the name, vo-killist Dani Filth had this to mutter on the subject: "We had an innumerable amount of names that never seemed likely to stick, that was until we put our proverbial heads together and narrowed it down to just three or four, and then tossed for it (proverbially of course) using a silver Norwegian crown (we couldn't find any proper money). The name Temple Of The Black Moon represents the rigorous worship of desire, (the black moon astrologically has always held association with the dark Goddess Lilith) and of course the ramifications of the lunar eclipse, always a herald for death and ill-omen."

So far almost an album's worth of material has been demoed, with Temple Of The Black Moon hooking up in the darkest depths of Bergen, Norway to collectively thrash it out. Songtitles thus far include "Infernal Desire Machine", "Don't Call Up What You Can't Put Down", "Dark Eyes For Trouble", "Beautifully Perverse" and "C.N.T (All That's Missing Is You)".

An album release and subsequent live dates are expected to happen around mid-2012.

Turisas - New Album Finished, N. American Tour With Cradle Of Filth

Turisas has finished recording the upcoming, yet untitled third album!

The new album was recorded between March and September 2010 at Sound Supreme Studio, Finland, and mixed by Jens Bogren (Opeth, Paradise Lost etc.) at Fascination Street, Sweden. The album was produced by vocalist and main songwriter Mathias "Warlord" Nygård. The album is due to be released worldwide on Century Media Records in early 2011. Complete information on the album title, release date and all other details will follow very soon - watch this space!

Along with releasing a new album, Turisas is to join Cradle Of Filth on a US tour in February - March 2011. The other supporting bands on this tour are Nachtmystium and Daniel Lioneye (HIM side-project). Mainland Europe and UK shows will be following close behind, details to be announced shortly; 2011 is looking to be one long road trip!

Warlord Nygård comments: "After a 16-month break from touring, focusing fully on the work on our third album, I'm happy to tell you that we're DONE! The workload has been enormous, and at times I've wished I'd known better, formed a punk rock band and kept things simple! But to achieve real progress, you really have to dig deep and see what you're made of. Take bites so big, you almost choke. We've stayed true to our ideology of releasing music only when we have something new to come out with, not repeating ourselves or just copying what we've done in the past to feed the market. Now that we're done with studios, we're all extremely excited to get back on the road again, and as our latest visit to North America is long overdue, coming over in January with Cradle is something we're all very much looking forward to. We had a great time touring with them in Europe in 2009, so this should be killer! Now we only have to figure out how to play these new songs!!"
