Revocation - Working On New Album, Death Cover Online
US thrash/tech death metal band Revocation are currently recording their new as-yet-untitled full-length album at Damage Studios in Southbridge, Massachusetts with engineer Pete Rutcho. The follow-up to the band's break-through Relapse debut Existence Is Futile is expected to see its release in summer 2011.
Guitarist/vocalist David Davidson recently checked in from Damage Studios with the following: "We are currently wrapping up the recording process for our third studio album and we firmly believe that this is our strongest material to date. The songs on the new release are incredibly varied and all have the own character. They range from technical thrash to groove laden death metal, there's even a song with a full horn section this time around. We can't wait for people to check it out!"
Additionally, Revocation has recorded a cover of Death's classic "Pull the Plug" track for Decibel Magazine's monthly Flexi Series. Revocation's take on "Pull the Plug" will be included in the March 2011 issue of Decibel, on sale in early February, and is streaming online at this location.
Davidson commented as follows: "We are extremely honored to be a part of the Decibel tribute to Death. Anyone who knows us is well aware that we're huge Death fans and we're very pleased with the way the song came out."
In other news, Revocation has recently announced that they will join legendary technical metal band Atheist for a handful of US tour dates in March. Revocation will also be performing regionally in the northeast surrounding their dates with Atheist. A listing of confirmed tour dates can be found here.
Continues Davidson: "We're also very excited to hit the road with another legendary death metal band, Atheist. Growing up I never thought I'd actually see them play, let alone tour with them. We can't wait to share the stage with them as well as A Life Once Lost and Last Chance To Reason. It's gonna be a killer tour indeed!"

Evocation - New Album Details, New Song Online
Swedish metallers Evocation will release their third album, Apocalyptic, on October 29 via Cyclone Empire Records. Also, a brand new song, "Sweet Obsession", is available for streaming on the band's MySpace page.
The band commented: "We are exhausted and we are grumpy but we are very happy as well... This means that we are finally done with our 3rd full length album which we entitled Apocalyptic. We are very, very satisfied with the final result and we are proud to say that - fucking hell, we did it even a third time! As we speak the album is already in our record company's hands, still the one and only Cyclone Empire. Now we are breathing some air to gain new power and strength to conquer the world even more, we are aiming at Tours, Festivals and Club Shows. For the cover art this time we naturally found that Xaay (Behemoth, Nile, Vader etc.) would fit both the title Apocalyptic and our musical achievements just perfect. And it did, we can assure you we are blown away by the effort and feeling he gave it. See for your selves! We will of course not leave you starving until the release of this master piece which is announced to be in European stores the 29th of October. Therefore we decided to give you a bite of the tasty cookie, so ladies and gents we give you - "Sweet Obsession"."

Evocation - Update From The Studio
Some weeks ago, Swedish death metal band Evocation finished recording their new album. Their long awaited third album Apocalyptic will hit the streets somewhere this autumn.
Guitarist Marko talked about the recording process - shortly before Thomas Josefsson recorded the vocals - as follows: "Everything was progressing just as we planned! For the drums we had some amazing help this time - Roberto Laghi (Producer for In Flames etc.). And the result - well to be honest I haven't ever heard such an amazing drum sound... Prepare to be blown away... Same goes for the guitars and the bass as well - the sound has progressed and is more evil than ever! Next up to get to work is Thomas (vocals). After having heard his ideas for the vocal patterns together with the songs we all feel very confident that this album will become by far our strongest achievement up to date. It might sound like a cliché but trust me and wait until the album is released."
At the moment the band is busy mixing and mastering the material and after having heard some first samples of the finished stuff, you can prepare for another big happening, when Apocalyptic finally will hit the shops in late October/early November.
Evocation will also play a special gig together with label-mates Facebreaker in support and showcasing their new album. Evocation fans will have a chance to listen to a couple of songs off the new record as early as September 3rd. The gig will take place at The cool Bambi Galore club in Hamburg, Germany.

Evocation - Working On New Material
Swedish death metallers Evocation have issued the following update:
"Dear brothers and sisters, it's January 2010 and it's cold, dark and kinda depressive. This is the perfect conditions for us to start recording our full length #3, which is also once again going to be released by the mighty Cyclone Empire in the fall this year; we're aiming at October. We have 11 new tracks and right now we are finishing up our pre-recordings and we have to say that it feels really good. The sound will be more raw but it will still be as Evocation as one can expect - plain, raw and brutal. Some of the new songs will hit your faces with such a force that you will have trouble recovering afterwards.
We leave 2009 with proud faces, having such a good festival summer and last but not least the mighty European tour together with Cannibal Corpse, Dying Fetus and Obscura. All of the bands were amazing both in private as on stage. This leaves us nothing but strength and confidence for the next album and hunger for more, more and more. So our dear friends we see you soon, and prepare your selfs for a reunion in war."
