UPDATE: As reported yesterday, Gojira will indeed be touring in October with Mastodon and also Kvelertak once again. The dates have now been announced for a North American tour that will start on October 15th. The three bands had already toured together in the U.S. earlier this year. See the new dates below. In a recent interview, Mastodon's bassist and vocalist Troy Sanders discussed the band's forthcoming album and it was revealed that it will be called Once More Round The Sun. The successor to The Hunter is finally coming and is slated for a release later this year on Warner Brothers Records. Once More Round The Sun clocks at around 60 minutes, and it is currently being mastered.

Event:	Mastodon: US Headlining Spring Tour 2014

American metallers Mastodon are currently embroiled in a controversy regarding an allegedly racist t-shirt that coincided with the Thanksgiving holiday. The t-shirt depicts a white male pilgrim pointing a gun at a female Native American and is pictured below. Some deemed it racist. The band defended the artwork explaining that they aren't racist and simply pointed out the atrocities linked to Thanksgiving.

On February 11th, 2012, Mastodon took the stage at London's O2 Academy, Brixton capping off the band's world tour for their fifth studio album The Hunter. This sold out performance was the band's first show at Brixton. In addition to performing their latest songs "Curl Of The Burl," "Black Tongue," and "Dry Bone Valley", the band dug into their catalog performing "Colony Of Birchmen," "Capillarian Crest," and "Iron Tusk." The band will now be releasing Live At Brixton digitally on December 10th, 2013.

Swedish progressive metallers Opeth have announced a co-headlining North American tour with Mastodon. Ghost will be their special guests opening all shows. The tour starts on April 4th in Portland, Maine, and will end on May 12th in Atlanta, Georgia.
