Metal Church - New Live Album Due In July

In addition to a putting out a new studio album next year, heavy/thrash metal legends Metal Church will release a new live album on July 26th via Rat Pak Records (America) and Reaper Entertainment (Europe) called The Final Sermon (Live In Japan 2019). It was recorded live at Club Citta in Kawasaki, Japan on the 'Damned If You Do' tour back in 2019 and marked the final performances of frontman Mike Howe, who took his own life two years later. Pre-orders are being taken over at ratpakrecordsamerica.com and reaper-entertainment.com.

Metal Church - Announce 'North American Annihilation' Tour Dates

After it was revealed more than a week ago that they would work on another album late next year, American metal veterans Metal Church have now revealed the newly confirmed shows for their 'North American Annihilation' trek (East coast) in late March. On all Canadian dates, Metal Church will be supported by Heathen.

Metal Church - To Work On Next Album In 2024

Metal Church's latest album Congregation Of Annihilation was released only seven months ago, but singer Marc Lopes revealed in a new interview with Metal Wani that they will begin working on a follow-up album in late 2024. The band's upcoming 14th studio album will be the second to feature Lopes, who's been the singer for Metal Church for roughly a year as the replacement of the late Mike Howe.

Metal Church - Releasing Book In November

NW Metalworx Books has announced the pre-order of Beyond The Black: The Story Of Metal Church, a book covering the legendary metal band by author James R. Beach and co-author and archivist Brian L. Naron. Tentatively set for publication this November, the book includes interviews with past and present members of Metal Church, crew members, producers, managers, friends, peers and others, as well as numerous rare images and photos, extensive concert listings, discography and a foreword by former Grim Reaper guitarist Nick Bowcott.

Metal Church - Former Drummer Dead At 61

Metal Church confirmed via Facebook that their former drummer Kirk Arrington has died at the age of 61. No cause of death was confirmed, but according to the band, Arrington had health issues. Arrington joined Metal Church in 1982, and he would play on seven albums with the band before departing in 2006, reportedly for health reasons.

Following the death of vocalist Mike Howe last year, which also contributed to an uncertain future for Metal Church, guitarist and founding member Kurdt Vanderhoof finally broke the news in a new interview with Metal-Rules that they are continuing on with a replacement for Howe (whose identity has yet to be revealed) and that the band also plans to release a new album next year.

Metal Church - Drummer Comments On Future Of The Band

Following the suicide of Metal Church frontman Mike Howe last July and guitarist Kurdt Vanderhoof having already indicated that the band would continue on with an unidentified replacement vocalist, drummer Stet Howland revealed in a recent interview on 'The Classic Metal Show' that he and the remaining surviving members just started talking to each other again and commented on the band's uncertain future, admitting that they have been "slowly digesting" and are still mourning the loss of Howe.

Metal Church - Kurt Vanderhoof Confirms Band Will Continue

Metal Church fans have been wondering what's next for the band since the death of frontman Mike Howe, who took his own life last July at the age of 55. Founding member and guitarist Kurdt Vanderhoof just recently announced the return of his short-lived early 90's hard rock band Hall Aflame via Facebook, and he was asked by fans if this meant the end of Metal Church; his response was, "No this is something different." Metal Church, who have yet to announce a replacement for Howe, are presently working on new material for their first album since 2018's Damned If You Do. Stay tuned for updates on the band.

Metal Church - Frontman Mike Howe Dead At 55

It is with great sadness that we have been informed that Mike Howe, frontman of American heavy metal outfit Metal Church, has passed away. The band confirmed the sad news on their Facebook page earlier today, revealing that he passed away in his California home. A cause of death hasn't been revealed. He was 55 years old.

Metal Church are currently in the process of working on their thirteenth studio album, which will be their first since 2018's Damned If You Do and their third album in a row to feature vocalist Mike Howe since he rejoined the band back in 2015. Metal Church - Guitarist To Release New Solo Album Next Year

Metal Church guitarist Kurdt Vanderhoof recently announced that he will release a new solo album early next year, entitled Brainchild. In a recent interview with Sea Of Tranquility, Vanderhoof described the record, which was already completed two years ago, as "a personal challenge - just something I wanted to do. It's just '70s old-school guitar riff rock."
