After splitting up in 2019 and reforming one year later, Czech gothic doomers Somnus Aeternus now return with new album announcement. Dubbed A Nightmare Lit By A Dying Star, the four-song effort will land in stores on October 15th.

About a year after their disbanding announcement, Czech doomsters Somnus Aeternus revealed in a Facebook post that they would reunite to record a shorter album using material from previous sessions as a band. The lineup for this release is going to consist of guitarists Wohma and Kubýk Fritsche, bassist Anna Boudová, and vocalist Jan ''Insomnic'' Sojmilk. Drums will be recorded by Doomed drummer Pierre Laube.

After six years of cooperation, Somnus Aeternus is parting ways with bassist and keyboardist Čed. Somnus Aeternus will continue as a five-piece band from now on. The band also confirmed that they are working hard on composing and rehearsing of new material, which currently consists of three songs, clocking at half an hour total. Czech doom metallers Somnus Aeternus are releasing their sophomore album, Exulansis, via Epidemie Records on April 1st, 2016. The 52-minute album consists of 6 tracks of doom metal tinged with post-metal and black metal influences. The record explores, in a lyrically and musically unorthodox way, the boundaries of pure madness and pure emotion. The basic premise of the concept of the album is that no matter if they take place against the everyday rut or grand circumstances, they are the only real evidence of us being alive.
